Gday,
So I've finally convinced my dad to purchase a new internet connection.
Its 12/5 and its pretty decent imo.
How many slots can i run on this?
Mainly source games (e.g tf2, css, l4d etc).
I have the hardware to run 300 slots.
Just wondering how many it can support.

I believe you need atleast 40 Kbps upload per player/slot.
Also 1MB = 1024KB

I am sure you can do the math yourself Smile

Um. Actually I can't do the math lol.
Do i need to multiply 40 with one and see how many i can get before hitting 5000?

Ok so first check out if you have 5 MB or 5 mb (1MB = 1024KB and 1mb = 1000kb)

Then simply divide th 5MB by the 40 Kb.

I believe there is a chart here: http://planethalflife.gamespy.com/View.php?view=HL2Guides.Detail&id=4&game=3

Hope it helps

Hope the hardware will be good as well Big Grin not to mention you will have to make sure you dont have people on the line at your home downloading and uploading to affect any of your servers' performance. Happy fragging Smile

Theres no way that you can run that many. I would say 50-75.

On a 66tick connection that would give him about 35-40players on the same server.

Those information in the previously link are outdated and you can't really calculate it like that Smile

Well, that's enough anyways.
Ill be hosting a 18 slot surf css server and a 32 slot tf2 server on it, so ill hope that its enough.

Sorry to bump this, but will the 5mbit hold to host two 20 slot servers?
