SRCDS Connection Problems

So I have installed a new dedicated server on my Windows 7 machine. Last time I had a server with XP everything worked fine after I installed everything correctly.

Now I am running into a fatal error or as somebody else posted "HYSTERICAL" hahaha. Anywho, I run srcds and people can connect to my server fine and dandy, the problem is that I cannot connect to ANY server even my own, when srcds is running. When it is running, all that ever happens is "connection fails after 4 tries" and then I'm out of luck. Once I shut down srcds I can join servers again...

I have tried numerous things to fix this...I have reinstalled everything dealing with the srcds folder and port forwarding I know is correct.
I've check both router settings and everything seems to look correct...I just don't understand why other people can connect and I can't =( Any help is much appreciated!

I had the same issue some years ago.. Which port is srcds listening on?

Would you be able to explain or tell me how I'd find out? =) I'm still kind of new with the whole dedicated server thing

I am now having the same problem, I believe I can connect to other servers, but I can't connect to mine... like WTF? Its really hard to have it so your friends cant but you can, now you cant connect by your external IP or your LAN IP or computer IP, yet THEY can. Its agonizing.

When you start your server, use the command "status" and paste the output of that command, here on the forum.
