Access on bookable servers
#1
Gday guys,

I'm thinking of providing my community with a bookable server where clans can practice or have matches etc. The initial setup and configuration of srcds is not an issue, but I was wondering what is the typical way games admins run these servers. Such as how to control access for the clans to be able to use source mod or rcon commands?

Cheers,
Ryan

Make an initial install and then sync link to different directories(server\srcds270\) and create a FTP account which is associated with the server installment. And the initial install would have all the mandatory maps, as for wars and configurations rdy-to-use. Then for the RCon, you could create a server.cfg, which is default for all servers, which also does not contain a rcon_password command. But however make it exec rcon.cfg, which will be auto generated with a random rcon password and then post it back to the client(e.g. website "submition page).

That's the simplest way I can think of at the moment. Smile

That's atleast what I think you mean Big Grin
