[RESOLVED] Others can no longer connect
#1
Hello,

Over the past few months I have been running a Garrys mod server and it has been quite successful until now. People are no longer able to connect to my server. Before you ask, yes my ports have been forwarded. I used to be able to see my server in the multiplayer list but now it is not there.

My ISP has not notified my of any changes they are making so I am putting it down to SRCDS or I am simply unable to connect to the steam master server. Although in the console once everything has loaded, I get the steam has successfully connected to the steam master server and gives me an IP address for the server.

After garrysmod was updated about a month ago and the new mulitplayer and single player system was implemented, most Dedicated Servers failed, including mine I got the "Your server is out of date" error. So I and many others used this patch http://dl.dropbox.com/u/7745323/pl_masterversion.zip Which worked fine until a few days ago and so that is why I have started this thread to see if there is anyone else who has experience the same problem.

I don't think anyone really should have used that patch... Just updated via HLDSUpdateTool.

Make sure your IP hasn't changed or something. Here it is:

What's my ip address, create your own visitors IP image

Also, try testing it on different ports to make sure your ISP didn't block a range to disallow you to run servers.

Use the offical version of the server. We cannot support the use of third party "patches."

Fair, enough Mooga. I have updated the server but I do not get the IP address of the master server.

Make sure you don't have any master servers listed in your server.cfg. Valve is known to change their master server IP.

Also, If the server is local, you normally will NOT be able to see it on the server list, but others should be able to...

Well when the server did work, I was able to see it in both LAN and Internet.

How do you change the ports that a game uses? Garrysmod is defaulting to 27015. I have tried changing the hostport in the server.cfg but no luck.

Also, should the Steam Master Server IP address be seen once the server has loaded? before the server says "VAC mode secure"?
