Illegal Instruction yet again

when running a fresh gmod server install I get this error:

./srcds_run: line 348:  8841 Illegal instruction     $HL_CMD

I have read the sticky saying that this has been fixed, and have a good idea that this is a sse2 error, however I can find no other recent threads on this topic stating that once again sse support has been cut.

there is no linux server for gmod, i believe you have to use wine

No, one has just recently been released and is now stable.

where did you get the server from?

I followed instructions on the gmod wiki. this isnt the wine version

But yes, what is your servers hardware? Specifically the processor.

its a sempron 3000+, and I already know that it doesn't support sse2, but since nobody else is complaining and apparently that was solved a while back according to the sticky, I was wondering if there was some other problem.

Not sure, I remember somebody saying that orangebox required SSE2
