Well SRCDS actually use 2 threads, one for network and one for the game logic. But it does not really matter.... Cause all the load is on the game logic any ways.
And I do not think any one knows, if SCRDS will ever support multiple cores.

We have had some issues recently with Orangebox game servers taking up multiple cores etc...
And I do believe there is some sort of multi-threading with TF2 game servers... It surfaced in the mailing list a while ago.

I had a Counter-Strike: Source server which made 4 threads, though the load was only affecting the "main" thread.

Imagine recoding all the hundreds of huge addons SRCDS has to support race condition. This would mean a death to customized SRCDS servers
