actually, I would tend to answer the question a little different recently: the kernel patch is no longer that important. Important is that you use a recent kernel. Even an unpatched kernel might perform very well. A bigger role plays the other optimizations, most important the realtime or fifo scheduling and rised priority of the server processes. see my howto for details...
