Can only join with my IP?

Exclamation
Hello, I have a gmod server with srcds, and it works. Atleast, it semi-works. Its updated and everything, when I start it, it starts normally. When I join, it works fine. When my friends join, its not responding. But when they type "connect 71.194.76.94" In console, they join fine. So whats the problem?

Are your friends trying to connect off of you?

If so, when you're connected to a local LAN server then you will be connected with the local private IP that they cannot use to join. They must join using your external and if you're playing and they join off you, they are attempting to join the private IP which will not work.

Your friends will have to always join with your external IP (71.194.76.94)

IS this a dedicated server in a datacenter? Or a dedicated server hosted from home behind a home router?

Alright, Well when I said LAN I did not mean LAN only, I mean that it was on the LAN to you.. Your Local Area Network.

Also, I'm able to add the server to favorites and view its status just fine

If people right click your name and view your game info while you're playing in your game server they will get an error because steam reports the IP that you're connected to is your local game servers IP, if its on the same computer its most likely going to be 127.0.0.1 or localhost.
