[HELP] Installing SRCDS on CentOS 5.0 (guide not working)

Hello. For some reason im unable to install SRCDS on my CentOS pc.

I have a 100mbits private line which I will be hosting css servers on for local clans and events!

I've tried to guide located at SRCDS.com, aswell as alot of guides on these forums, but non of them seems to be helping me.

I've done this before on debian and centos, so I really don't understand why its not working.

I'd love to explain the issue here but Im heading to bed once this topic is posted.

Sorry for my english;
you create a folder, enter it and type this:

wget http://www.steampowered.com/download/hldsupdatetool.bin
chmod +x hldsupdatetool.bin
./hldsupdatetool.bin
./steam


after
CentOS
./steam -command update -game "Counter-Strike Source"

Debian
./steam -command update -game "Counter-Strike Source" -dir .

see if you still have this problem

Another tip, you have serious problem with CentOS, when the server is 30 players starting to jag a lot.

Uses Debian which is jewel.

Thanks for the reply but I've tried this multiple times, and I've been leeching that topic aswell.

ISSUE FIXED!

ANYONE WITH THIS ISSUE LOGIN TO TERMINAL ROOT: wire "su"

Then "yum install ncompress", once thats done redo the guide from srcds!

I run my servers on CentOS. Uncompress is pre-installed, so you need to symbolically link gunzip and uncompress to each other.

Code:

ln -s /usr/bin/uncompress /usr/bin/gunzip

Hey guys, i'm having a problem.
When i get to ./steam -command...."CSS"
It says: Failed to create directory and some lines below (3)

I'm using Centos 5.4 on VirtualBox.

Pliz, somebody help me.
