Latest update not updating server instances

Hi got a real problem here:

We currently have 2 dedis and about 12 css servers.

The latest update has fooked them all.

We run everything on Linux.

Now I have run the hldsupdatetool.bin, run ./steam -update -game cstrike -dir /home/geclan/SURF-SRCDS/orangebox


did this for all our servers. Heres a screenshot of WinSCP.



I have tried updating ./steam from /home/geclan/srcds with various -dir, actually all different installation folder.

According to hlds update tool.

we are running the latest versions of everything.

But after restarting all the servers, still getting the message:

'The server you are trying to connect to is running an older version of the game.'

Any help would be much appreciated.

Am I doing something wrong. No need to post me the guide on updating, already read it and followed it to the .

Am I updating the wrong -dir
after running ./hldsupdatetool.bin it successfully extracts to steam?? no errors.

you need to leave out the "orangebox" part of the path. I guess hldsupdatetools has created another orangebox directory inside your orangbox dir with the up-to-date version...

now when I connect to the server its asks me to install counter strike lol.

Ok it appears that because I ran the hldsupdate command in all the installation folders. It appears to updated most of the servers as CS.1.6!!*(&^^%%$£$%&)

./steam -command update -game cstrike -dir /home/geclan/AIM-SRCDS -verify_all -retry

I should of run:
./steam -command update -game "Counter-Strike Source" -dir /home/geclan/AIM-SRCDS -verify_all -retry

So I have re run the tools with the correct command lines. Still no luck.

If you connect to IPort - 82.71.241.172:27015 you can see it is CS.1.6. game type.

And surf is the same. IPort - 82.71.241.164:27015

I won't post all the ip's but you get the picture.

How do I correct this?They should all be Counterstrike Source :S

Have you just tried running the command you should have? That should overwrite the cs 1.6 server with a css one.
