my srcds is messed up and didnt give me a server.cfg so i copyed this and pasted into a cfg file and now it says that sbox_allownpcs 1 is invalid command -.-

I have tried removing sbox_allownpcs 1 and it just gave me an error saying that sbox_godmode 0 was unknown

If i created a garrysmod server.cfg file, i have no idea where to put it. Yesterday it was working but today it's not, i get a error saying could not download server.cfg cash file, server is misconfigured!!!

Personally I don't run gary's mod servers but all the other steam games have a /cfg/ folder and you just stick it in there. And as well as gbuddy's posts

Should just be hostname "whatever" no quotes around the variable. I'm surprised that even works.

Well it I also put it in garrysmod/cfg and it still didnt work

Havent tryed it without quotes yet. i will try to fix it.

Quotes don't make difference in GMOD.

I got my server running but I can't join it. I try direct connect (with the console) but it keeps failing. I get this:

My server IS dedicated and the ports should be 27016 SV / 27005. I can see why it wouldn't work but I don't know how to fix.
