Port forwarding necessary in a datacenter?
Gday guys, I’m having a server co-located in a datacenter this week and I’m getting the physical server setup and ready for a quick and painless install at the datacenter.
The server has a static IP address (publicly accessible) with two srcds servers installed. The servers are using ports xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:27015 and 27016.
My question is mainly about port forwarding, will it be required in a datacenter?
From what I have researched the following ports need to be forwarded.
Steam Friends Service UDP 1200 1200
Steam Main UDP UDP 27000 27015
Steam Main TCP TCP 27020 27039
Steam CyberCafe TCP 27040 27041
Steam Dedicated Server HLDS, SRCDS UDP 27015 27015
Steam Dedicated Server HLTV UDP 27020 27020
Steam SRCDS Rcon TCP 27015 27015
Now I notice there is no mention of port 27016 in the above which one of my servers will be; do I need to change that above forwarded ports to include that? So for example “Steam UDP UDP 27000 27016”
Thanks
Ryan
