No Server Settings?
#1
Question
When I start up my Garry's Mod server and right before it finishes loading and everything it will say something about it not being able to load server settings... I have tried everything and have found no problems in my files. Any suggestions on what my problem is? I have tried to upload an attachment of the screenshot and I'm not sure if it worked.
Thanks, Gbuddy

Did you try updating your server? I thought there was a garymods update the other day.

I fixed that quite a while ago when the update first came out, that wasn't resolved by updating it ws fixed by adding a script to my srcds file, but now i got the new error, have you seen the screenshot?

I run a CS source server (not Gmod, i know) and these messages appeared when i loaded plugin configuration files before those plugins were loaded.

does that mean like when I'm working on my MOTD at the same time as im playing on my server? (my server runs on my Windows XP desktop and I play on it on my Vista laptop)

No that shouldn't make a difference.

f.e. i have some configuration files for Mani admin and Eventscripts with hundreds of directives.
Once the Mani admin plugin has been loaded, it recognizes the directives in those files and interprets them.
Code:
mani_quake_holy_shit_trigger_count 24

But when Mani admin is not loaded and its configuration files are then i end up with messages such as
Code:
Unknown command "mani_quake_holy_shit_trigger_count"
Steam username for communication: root_admin (but i'm just a regular user)

That wouldnt cause it to say it cant load server settings though would it? I've looked at my settings file and my server settingsfile and there is no problem

Keep in mind that i'm comparing Gmod with CS source, i do not use Gmod.

Code:
Failed to load Steam Service
ServiceStart: failed to start
Unknown command "Server Settings"
Unknown command "{"
Unknown command "sbox_allownpcs"
Unknown command "sbox_playergod"
Unknown command "sbox_maxsents"
Unknown command "sbox_maxwire_turret"
Unknown command "}"
Connection to Steam servers successful.
    VAC secure mode is activated

I've seen Steam errors with dedicated servers before, that's why i think the first two lines in the above log don't have anything to do with the other messages. As what the other lines concerns: It seems as if the server is executing a config file (hence, it can load the file) with non-steam/gmod/source commands thus lists each line as an invalid command.

I'm comparing this with the experience that i have gained on my CS source server but (even though i say it myself) i think my approach seems logical.
