Friends cant join gmod server :(

Ok, so heres the deal. I have an updated version of srcds, my ports are forwarded and my friends still cant join my server. Strangely enough, online players can join and have played on my server. Is it a problem on their end? Please help...

It's because you're connecting to your game via the LAN. Thus the IP that is presented to your friends when the "join game" you through the steam interface is not a valid IP to them.

If you friends just find the game in the server browser and join that way, it'll work. They just can't go ezmode and click Join Game when you hop on your server.

Or go to whatismyip.com and give them that address to join.

It is a good idea. It's not that hard to make a server, and the more servers the better, since it will increase the number of people playing at once. I also think that if you do make a server, you should have an admin who can kick out people who are spamming or griefing. Visit this friends clipart for better ideas. If we have a private server, then I would have to go and test this out with my friends. I don't know if it will work or not, but if it does, then we will have to get more people on board and try it out.
