FPS Boost questions
#1
I have been looking into FPS boost.
On a windows machine with a duel core 2.8 ghz and three gigs of ram can only get srcds to 512 fps. Which is fine for anything conventional. However, I want the know how to get windows up to 1k or even 2k? I've tried googling and stuff and I've found nothing. Or is it not possible on a windows box? I know you can achieve up to 2000 fps on a linux box with a patch kernel but thats all I know.

It is possible to get it to 1k on a windows box although I believe you need Windows Server 2008

You can actually get 1000fps on windows 2003 if you run it in a certain virtual machine host, on a linux machine, but that's besides the point and the fps is unstable, for all intents and purpose 512 is the maximum fps on server 2003, 1000 on server 2008.

Oh alrighty, thank you. I'm just running it on professional. Thanks for the help. I do have a question though, how do you manage to get above 256fps on a linux box? Do I have to recompile the kernel? or is there something else I could do?

Normally by default it is above 256. Otherwise try setting fps_max?

Stock Windows Server 2008 = ~999FPS Stable (fps_max 0)
Stock Windows Server 2003 = 512FPS Stable (fps_max 0)

EDIT: Attached file will boost your Windows Serve upr to 1000fps
