Problem while installing srcds in linux Ubuntu

Hello, Actually i am using windows 7, but i installed Ubuntu in a virtual machine with vmware to run my dedicated server. In my virtual machine I have 3gb Ram, processor Dual Core and the link works perfectly.

I tried to install the SRCDS, but it never ends

It stops there. Its almost two hours, and it still in "Updating Installation
No installation record found at /home/eduruocco".
I tried to download the Counter-Strike 1.6 srcds, with the command ./steam -command update -game "cstrike" -dir /home/eduruocco and it worked!
I cannot understand, the CS1.6 works, but the CS:S Does not!
Well, i was wondering if you could help me installing the SRCDS for CS:S.

Sorry! Its working! I dont know what was wrong, i just put ./steam -command update -game "counter-strike source" -dir . and its working

but please beware that VMs are not suited to run game servers. you are probably better off running the server on windows, or (even better) install linux on your real machine.
