Fail install

Start Up Command: hldsupdatetool.exe -command update -game tf -dir c:\server

I installed HLDSUPDATETOOL and the next step is to update it. So I enter the command hll....exe -command update -game tf -dir C:\Server

At first it download something and then exit then when I start it again with the same command it blinks really fast but I saw something about not being able to open client registry blob...

btw now it saying something about cmultifieldblob

Make sure you're using the updated install of hldsupdatetool.exe and not the version that you downloaded from the valve servers originally.

Then use a command line like this:

hldsupdatetool.exe -command update -game tf -dir "c:\server"

Enclose your directory in quotes

Also add -verify_all to the end of the update argument.

I dont understand what the updated install means. Its the same file just updated. correct?

Basically you're downloading an installer, that installer then installs to your computer... If you just clicked next all the way through it should be in C:/Program Files/Valve/

You need not install your game server using the executable file downloaded from the valve servers but rather the one that was installed on your machine with the installer.

Yes. I get that.
I put a cmd.exe in this folder and type that command. I returns an error.
and btw
when I click the update .exe a console blinks once....

Make sure the update tool is in the same directory as your server.
And the update command is correct

You need to run the exe with commands. So you need to run it via a batch file or a shortcut.
