+fps_max , does it really make a diffrence?
#1
Hello there, I was wondering if the start up command +fps_max really does a change to the quality of the server?

If it does what would be the differences between 1000, 500 & 333 ?

For some games I use fps_max, and that is mainly for sourceforts and garrysmod.

fps_max, does so the server will calculate more often.

fps_max 0 is the best setting, because it disables the limit.
the difference between 1000, 500 fps is small but not zero. at (constant!) 1000 fps the server has a precision of 1ms, at 500 fps it's 2ms. at 100fps it's 10ms. so the difference between 500 and 1000 is rather small, but between 100 and 1000 is very well noticeable.

Proper Settings for a Windows Server 2008 Std with an FPS Booster service are as follows:

fps_max 300 = 250 FPS
fps_max 600 = 500 FPS
fps_max 0 = ~999FPS ( No limit. )
