Gmod Server crashing
#1
Code:
BASIC INFO
Server OS: Windows Server 2003 32-bit (Virtual Machine, running under VirtualBox Non OSE, on Debian Linux 5)
Processor: Athlon 64 X2 4400+
Ram: 1.5GB.
Game(s): garrysmod
Start Up Command: c:\srcds\orangebox\srcds.exe -console -game garrysmod +sv_defaultgamemode "lasertag"  +map lt_saon  -port 27015 -maxplayers 10 -autoupdate
Admin Mods: None (had Ulysses, removed in diagnosis).
There aren't any gmod addons apart from one of the game modes (lasertag fretta) i've tried (both it and vanilla crashed), LT is a fun mod if you guys haven't tried it, very tactical.

Nothing else seems to crash at all on the server except srcds, and not even straight away, we're usually in the game for 10-25 minutes before it, simple stops (and comes with the auto disconnect timer), svrchecker has been set to auto restart and restarts it pretty quick, but its terribly annoying.

If i start it manually i can type in the server console after it goes down even though you can't connect to it, but you never get a response from it at all...

It not currently creating memory dumps (afaik, there were some there from march) so its a hard one.

Sorry to bump this but 45 views and 0 responses.. wow.

Either this is a harder question that I initially thought, or i've broken some kind of code of etiquette.

Is there anything i should be looking at to try to diagnose this issue, short of getting out softice and debugging the thing?

Ask in the facepunch server forum.

Try -condump in the commandline of the server, as this will make a console.log file in the garrysmod folder of the server (This will log everything from console errors etc). With this you can look for error that may be causing the issue with your game server, also in your command line you use "-autoupdate" which as far as I know is an obselete command and it may help if its removed. The noly other thing it could be is the fairly low reliability of gmod at the moment as there is crashing issue which is hopefully going to be fixed in an upcoming update.
