when i start my server it all works fine except for the ip listed in the ingame server list thing, people cant connect because its showing my network ip instead of the net one, have no idea how to fix it.

It will always show your internal IP.
You need to set up portforwarding and give people your external IP. The server will still show the internal IP, but people will be able to join via the external IP without any problems.

http://www.whatismyip.com will tell you the IP of a home computer. If it is a hosted webserver do a DNS lookup on the domain name. For example in windows you can go into the command prompt, and use PING <domain name> to get the server IP, ie PING STEAMPOWERED.COM
