its for Counter Strike Source and the command line im using is:
C:\srcds\srcds.exe -console -game cstrike +map gg_aim_shotty -maxplayers 16 -autoupdate

im using Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit, with a intel core i7 960 and 6 gig of ram

Windows freezing isn't a terribly unusual thing, but OS razzes aside, try pulling up the Windows Process Manager or whatever name it's going by these days with CTRL-ALT-DELETE (it may be called Task manager in "home" versions) and see if there's something hanging up the computer. If it IS the server, you'll have to consider reducing some of the options.
