sure, every thing is possible, it just takes more time

Yes its possible, you could use TCAdmin as Counter-Strike.com does, and then make your own template for it, or code the whole thing from scratch

You can also use the open source "GamePanelX"
It has a friendly interface and its easy to use. Just need a ssh2 module and add your details. Here you have the link: GamePanelX They also have now a commercial version. Details: GamePanelX is a free and open source web-based control panel. It is written using PHP and uses the MySQL database. It's Licensed under the GPL (GNU General Public License). This project requires both a Master server and a Slave server. The master hosts the actual PHP files for the control panel, and the slave has gameservers running on it. NOTE: This project was coded 100% from scratch, and is in no way based on other panels. It has always been known as GamePanelX since it's inception. Admin panel User Panel Server settings

Theres lots of different panels available that are antedate, i would recommend coding your own as theres alot of different security issues to address, aswell as efficiency issues; unless your planning on running servers for a few people. If you do want to code a panel yourself however, ASP is the best place to start for Windows, and PHP is the best place to start for Linux imo.

That only works with Linux, however.

But it requires SSH access to the game server. I don't think you can get SSH implemented in the required way for remote access.

It's possible with whatever you want, ASP simply has more native access to Windows, while PHP does with Linux. C++ isn't even required, it can be done using a daemon in PHP using the socket methods.
A MAC server? No; not even worth the time. The SSH2 module(@mooga) only works with Linux however, and that seems to be the most popular method of connecting to a server's shell via PHP; i know that's the module that I personally use, because I cba with the hassle of managing a Windows server, or paying for the OS when theres a free, better alternative(In this case CentOS).

May I ask why everyone in this forum is so heavily against macs? Osx runs bsd natively on x86 hardware and some people (eg me) actually build systems with it. I have a quad core i dual boot, but I stay in osx waaaaaaay more than windows because of the performance and the terminal.

It is to expensive.

I think the problem is that people are uneducated. I'm running the same equipment i would use for linux and windows but i would just rather stay in osx cause this sytem can easily handle a server running at the same time and i like the environment...
C2Quad Q6600@$150 + gigabyte ga-p35-ds3l@$80 + nvidia 8500gt 512ddr2@50$ + a few hard drives, a psu and periphrials and I'm still under 500 bucks

Well i don't say you can't easy run a server. But if you are a GSP, you need valid license of XServer, and actually server hardware, none of the things you said is server grade hardware.
A Xserver cost around 100-200$ more then a server with linux etc. |
