Can this run a server?
#1
I have an old box laying around the house and I was wondering if I could run at 10man private server in it.

Server OS: Windows XP
Processor: Intel P4 @ 1.8GHz
Ram: 128mb DDR Ram
Game(s): Counter-Strike: Source
Admin Mods: zBlock, Mani admin(optional), PMA(optional)

If not, would I be able to do it if I added +1GB ram?

You will not be able to run it with 128MB of Ram. If you can install 1GB of ram it should be fine for 10 players.

Ya, just running XP with 128MB is hell. I would recommend finding enough ram to move it up to 512MB or 1GB. That should make your life a little easier.

The problem is that it uses DDR ram(the processor has the socket 478), and it's kinda hard to find it nowdays =/.
I'll try anyways, if I find it it should be like 12€ or something.

OFF-TOPIC:
Anyone knows about something like this?

Finding DDR isn't that hard... you just gotta pull it out of older boxes that have died Toungue

The boxes older than this one died and I don't have them anymore.
Anyways I found some DDR Ram in a store near my house, I'll buy 1GB and test it.

DDR is still around and normally not that hard to find it's SD-Ram that's hard to find.

SD RAM and DDR aren't difficult to find... I have boxes of 128 + 256MB sticks of SD... And I have a good pile of 256 - 512MB sticks of DDR...

If you want some let me know.

I'll buy 1GB for now, it's really just a lan server and it's all automatic(gather system).

Yeah, thats a good plan. I can imagine with that little amount of ram you couldn't even run XP well.

Make sure your motherboard will even support 1GB...
