HLDS not adding master servers (Counter-Strike 1.6)
#1
Hi everyone,

Last Wednesday me and some friends got a server up on co-location. And since then I've struggled to get the servers to add master servers! Because the servers doesn't show in the internet tab. And that's very important since they're going to be public servers.

I've set sv_region 3 for Europe, opened the correct ports and now I've shutdown the firewall but it still doesn't work!

I've also tried different regions to get it to work, but nothing...

We got a Left 4 Dead 2 server running to, and it runs fine with master servers and everything. The difference is that it's running SRCDS and not HLDS.

Here is the command line i am running to start it (I've tried other ones to):
Code:
screen ./hlds_run -autoupdate -game cstrike +ip 188.xxx.xx.xxx +port 27016 +map de_dust2 +maxplayers 16 +sv_lan 0 -pingboost 2

(I've hidden the ip's with x:es)

And here is what HLDS says when starting:
Code:
Auto detecting CPU
Using AMD Optimised binary.
Auto-restarting the server on crash
Updating server using Steam.
Checking bootstrapper version ...
Updating Installation
Checking/Installing 'Counter-Strike Base Content' version 35

Checking/Installing 'Linux Server Engine' version 54

Checking/Installing 'Half-Life Base Content' version 12

HLDS installation up to date

Nope, think you might be better off in Valves forums, as most of us don't know a lot about hlds.

I've posted there to, no luck so far after a couple of days. And i tried to contact the Steam support to, but I got an answer that said that they didn't have any support for that operating system...

Disable iptables see if that helps also make sure the port is not been used by another program.

IP tables is already turned off and we've tried different ports. And as I said before: we have no problems with running SRCDS. It shows up on the lists etc. so from my point of view it looks like it's a software issue, maybe a bug in HLDS? This is getting REALLY annoying.

Thanks for all your suggestions though. Keep em comin'!

Check your start line for the server.

sv_region 255 , not 3.There is a bug in the latest engine,so only sv_region 255 wil make your server visible in the internet tab.
