CSS Serves per Dedicated

Not sure uif this is the right section, if not could sombody move it please.

kk, i am thinking about renting a dedicated server for css servers i am thinking o gettin one with these specs:

# 2.5GHz 4MB Intel® quad core processor
# 8GB RAM and 600GB hard disk space
# Windows OS (not sure which one yet)
# 100Mbps connectivity (unmetered)

but before i rent one i would like to know how many 32 player servers (or slots in total across all servers) this could host. i am intrested because sombody i know has just bought one with 2.4GHz (Quad) and 4GB of ram and he is hosting 4 32 player and 2 55 player css servers, with no lag, all at 100 tick and really low latency for everyone, but he wont put any more on because he doesn't need them. SO what i am basically asking is how many i could get in their maximum while still playing at top performance?

What game(s) did you want to host?

I highly doubt he is running that 55 slot at 100tic and has no lag when its entirely full. I have yet to see a server that runs solid 100tick at that amount of slots.

Srcds is usually ment for only 32 players at 100tick. Anything above 32 with 100 tick tends to get unhappy, regardless of hardware. However you should be able to host that. Also I'm assuming both the servers aren't going to be completely full at the same time. It is important though to choose a ligher OS. DON"T USE VISTA!. I would say with xp/2003 with 32 bit or go all out and get a 64 bit. (64-bit runs faster but 7 hogs up some resource's too.

4 cores 4 servers if they are full.
You should be fine with 4 gb ram no need for 8gb

Just a note, you can't run a 32-slot server at 100 Tic.

Its possible, I have seen servers at full run 36 at 100tick (no drops).

Just because it says that on your client doesn't mean your getting it.
