Looking for the right bed...
#1
Hi everyone,

I'm sure you've seen a bunch of posts by me within the past few months. Here's another.

My wife and I just bought a house. We are looking for a king size bed with a shorter but upholstered headboard (mostly beige-ish/off-white in color), because there's a window above where our bed will be placed. We've looked for months now at countless stores, cannot determine where to buy, and are nervous about making a mistake purchasing a bed without physically seeing it and checking its durability.

From my perspective, there are two different types of headboards I have seen. Ones that are screwed into the bottom of the bed (which are most of them) and can be easily pushed back and forth. The other kind I have seen are bolted into multiple areas of the back of a bed, which seems way more durable and cannot easily be pushed back and forth.

One bed we like is from West Elm. We cannot physically see it in the store. One concern we have is that it's custom, expensive, and cannot be returned. I've also read some pretty bad consumer reviews of the company and quality in general. This particular bed looks like the headboard is screwed into the bottom of the frame.
Another bed I liked, which seemed extremely durable when I saw it, is made by an Italian company called ALF, which we saw at a local furniture store. This can be viewed here (not our store):

Notice in the 2nd photo, there is a cushioned/upholstered part of the bed, however the wood behind it is securely bolted in the back. I have yet to find another bed with a nice headboard like the ALF Iris.

What are your thoughts? Any recommendations on other companies? How do you feel about West Elm, or going completely sight unseen like Wayfair? It's been an extremely difficult and tiring process.

Sorry for the long post, thank you!

Hi! I also recently wanted to get myself a new bed and at first I didn't even think it would be a real challenge for me. Fortunately, I was lucky enough to stumble upon the website https://www.reviews.io/company-reviews/store/1stopbedrooms.com where I was able to read reviews of the company 1stopbedrooms, which I had heard a lot about and wanted to make sure they were reliable. In the end, as it turned out, these guys really can be trusted, because the quality of their beds and other bedroom furniture is unattainable for their competitors.
