Tickrate and FPS drops when defuse
#1
Hi

So i did not know if this is a srcds related issue or a linux issue so i am posting it here.

This is the senario, when someone defuses the bomb on my dd2 server, the tickrate (and i assume the fps) drops down to almost zero, when u look at the progressbar for defusing, its shows 20% every 2 seconds, it kinda freezes.

Hope somebody can help me with the problem! Smile

your startup command line looks kinda strange...

maybe you have some sourcemod plugin installed that is doing something during defuse? try disable all sourcemod plugins and reenable them one by one.

also try doing an fpsmeter measurement to make sure it's the servers fault and not some client or connection problem (see my signature).

finally you could try a different kernel (see also my signature), but as I recommend 64 bit (especially when having 6GB ram) this will require a full reinstallation of the linux... in any case 2.6.27 is not the best one for srcds, maybe even the one I describe in my howto is better at 32 bit than that...

Now when u say it, it is possible that the defuse fault started after a kernel upgrade...

in april i have planned to do a full server reinstall, when they launch ubuntu 10.04 LTS. Last time i tried 64 bit i had an error with some of the mysql plugins that didnt work with the liberys and i coudnt get it to work.
