Garry's Mod & SRCDS At The Same Time?

So I've been working on it and my Garry's Mod server is all set up. I am able to start my server and friends are able to join. I've just found one problem that isn't that big of a deal, but I'd like to see if I can fix it. When SRCDS is running, I can't launch Garry's Mod myself. It says the game is unavailable. I am able to open Gmod and then start my server and that works, but does anyone know another way to get around this?

OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
Processor: Pentium Dual-Core CPU T4300 @ 2.10GHz
RAM: 4 GB

Are you running through GUI or CMD?

It doesn't sound like a port issue, which is what this problem usually means. Are you using the Steam Tool, or the Standalone SRCDS found at the main part of this site?

Standalone SRCDS.

Try this:

1. Close Steam
2. Start up the SRCDS server (located in a separate directory)
3. Start up Steam
4. Start up Game
