Custom Models HL2 Deathmatch
#16
The code seemed to work. Although on joining the server it crashed it.

I dont think it is the code though, I think the star wars skins were made for css and not hl2dm. I have to try it with some skins that were "made" for hl2dm.

I will report back again once I have tried.

Sometime today hopefully.

Ok, code definitley works.

Something just does not seem right though.

The skins that one downloads appear to replace existing skins or something....

Not sure how that will work with the chooser. Apparently, you change the skin through options, but I dont get it....

Anyone else out there ever actually implemented custom skins onto a hl2dm server?

hmm.. You could try to change the paths. I think that it would be easier to do that

What I mean is that when installing skins, people are saying to have to replace the existing models that come with hl2dm.

Not sure I believe that.

Also I noticed there arent many skins for hl2dm on fpsbanana....

Anyway, I will attempt this again when I get some time and report back.

The code works though, so I guess it can be used by anyone else who wants to try it....

Normally, when i hear about people that want skins installed, its because they want some alternate skins instead of the standard one's.

Yeah I am looking for the standard ones plus the custom ones. Dont see how the skin chooser would help here.

Also, if I install a custom skin on my client machine, it has to upload to the server and down to all the clients for them to see no?

Just having trouble understanding how to get this done. Its so much easier with css.
