[RESOLVE] Can't upgrade TF2 or all game with hlupdatetool
#1
Cool
Since the update yesterday on TF2, I can not use the process steam. when I use it, It mark "Segmentation error". I do not understand why.

./steam -command update -game "tf" -verify_all -dir .
Checking bootstrapper version ...
Erreur de segmentation (It's a french server)

I tried to remove the software and hlupdatetool.bin steam and re-download everything but I still have the same problem.

Can you help me?
Here is information about my server:

Ubuntu 8.04
Intel ® Core ™ 2 Duo CPU E8400@3.00GHz
Thanks a lot !

maybe the updatetool needs to get updated, so please try to run ./steam (without any parameters) first. did it change anything? if not, you might want to re-install TF2.

It did'nt anything too.
But the more strange is : When i want to install on other folder (a new) a new tf2 server : it does the same thing.

mmh ... did you try to upgrade your distro, too? also, which glibc and kernel do you use?

maybe you should give it a try, on Debian its:

apt-get update (first, after that: )
apt-get upgrade

don't know if this will work for Ubuntu, too, just try it.

after that reboot your root.
