Can't start TF2 server after 2010-01-27 update...
#1
Mod: TF2 (maybe other mods as well, just that I only host TF2 at the moment)
Installation: Vanilla
Caused by: 2010-01-27 update

The following is the error message after the initialization. After this error, the startup will abort:
Code:
[S_API FAIL] SteamAPI_Init() failed; unable to update local steamclient. Continuing with current version anyway.
srcds_i486: tpp.c:63: __pthread_tpp_change_priority: Assertion `new_prio == -1 || (new_prio >= __sched_fifo_min_prio && new_prio <= __sched_fifo_max_prio)' failed.
Aborted

No one here has such issue? Now I can't even start my Linux TF2 server. Sad

(Well, my Linux SRCDS is for testing, and my main servers are hosted on a Windows box now though. Toungue)

I checked alliedmods.net's forums and those guys are reporting this issue (link).

I'm having the same issue, I've tried using old /bin/ files from before the update but it's not working for me even still.

Code:
srcds_i486: tpp.c:63: __pthread_tpp_change_priority: Assertion `new_prio == -1 || (new_prio >= __sched_fifo_min_prio && new_prio <= __sched_fifo_max_prio)' failed.

Didn't work for my vanilla copy (I have a backup of my fresh SRCDS TF2 installation).

Valve released a mini patch today (both for server and client). After that update, I can start the server fine.

Code:
Updating 'Team Fortress 2 Content' from version 129 to version 130

13.26%  ./orangebox\tf\bin\server.dll

Checking/Installing 'Team Fortress 2 Materials' version 49

Checking/Installing 'Base Source Shared Materials' version 8

Checking/Installing 'Base Source Shared Models' version 4

Checking/Installing 'Base Source Shared Sounds' version 4

Updating 'OB Linux Dedicated Server' from version 23 to version 24

56.50%  ./orangebox\tf\bin\server_i486.so
100.00% ./orangebox\bin\steamclient_linux.so

Yet since yesterday update, my TF2 client crashes a lot.

A realy strange update. One of my servers was online. Removed addons. The server went online. Did the exact thing with server no 2.. still offline. LATER

I used some backupped /orangebox/bin files and the server worked. Now they have realeased new bin files and i can use the server with my addons normaly
