Any way to unlock higher tickrates for L4D and L4D2?

Nope. Locked to 33tick and no actual need to have it higher.

Fps lock is no problem (sm_cvar will do things), but 33 tick lock is annoying.

The engine is locked to 30fps. You cannot modify this unless VALVe left another bug or you have the actual source code and compiled it.
30fps means 30tickrate.

Okay then 512 fps means 512 tickrate? no.

The engine is still the same - Source - and this is why there should be a way around. There are source games that run on tick 100.

First of, why do you wanna run 100Tick?

Second, the game is made for default Tick, it will probably misbehave if you get it above.

And btw, Left 4 Dead got its own engine. It only shares some technology with Source

Okay now I suppose you don't even read my replies.

I said L4D2 is locked to 30fps. That has not a piece of cake to do with anything else(eg CSS). CSS is locked to 100tickrate. If you change the fps to like 60, you will have 60tickrate.

L4D and L4D2 are LOCKED at 33 Tick. There is no way to change this. Just like TF2 is locked at 66 Tick. If you would like I higher tick rate, contact valve, but they have already done nothing. Both L4D and L4D2 work fine at 33 Tick.

I know that the engine is different but it's still Source.

I meant some memory patching or something else. I thought the restriction was not engine based..

33 Tick is HARD CODED into the game. It cannot be changed.

I havent tried L4D yet, but it is still the source engine. I can change the tickrate on TF2 to 100 (actually to anything, but clients cvar wont go over 100).
