Hi, I am trying to join my srcds server that I run on my pc (windows XP). I can join from both my internal and home ip but I cannot join from my external ip? Everyone else can join from it but I just want to join from it so my friends can actually see what I am playing not just Server Not responding sign. I am using a Qwest M1000 Router. Any help would be appreciated.

You cannot connect to your external IP because you're within its internal network...

I don't think so, cause I have a DIR-615 and I can connect to my server running on the computer beside me via external IP

It depends on your router and ISP... Some support loop back interfaces most don't... I don't want to go into detail.

If it's next to you, you should connect via local IP. External is for other people.

He knows this, but wants to connect to his external so people can join his game correctly... I know how it can be a pain from past experiences.
