IP Address Help

Hello, I recently successfully setup SRCDS for my computer. Everything was okay until I looked at the IP address. It was my normal computers address. I think that hackers can get into my computer that way. (Am I right?) If I am right, what can I do to make it not show my normal IP address?

For a normal user trying to hide your IP address is as useful as trying to hide an elephant in your bedroom...

Newer home ISP's and the technology they use is designed to prevent attacks... As long as you're running a hardware firewall, or software firewalls on all of your machines and only allowing specific inbound ports to your game server machine you should be fine...

All in all people host game servers at home. People share their IP all the time and you dont even know it... Why posting on this forum shows every admin your IP, joining game servers, voice, torrenting, and everything outside your network shows your IP.

Also... The idea of hackers hacking your local house is the same reason why there are minimal viruses for an Apple computer.

What do you mean by normal IP?
You should have an External and a Local IP... Players need to connect via your External IP, your local IP will be something like 192.168.X.X

go to http://www.whatsmyip.org and use that as the ip to replace

People can't call you without your phone number.
People can't play on your server without your IP.
