Server Spikes

Hey im a seasoned server hoster, but on my server iv lately been having spikes where everyone's ping goes up to about 800 and the server lags like hell,

Windows XP Pro
4 gb ram
metamod 1.8
sm 1.4
running DAF
QueryCache
FPSboost,

those are the ones im using to try and reduce it to no avail Sad

any suggestions?

about 24-25 at a time will check the speed when i get home

Check to see what your processor usage is... Tf2 likes to eat up more CPU than CS:S or 1.6 do, and P4's aren't ideal for server hosting.

my cpu is below 50% i think it may be a ddos attack, anyway to block that?

I honestly think your bandwidth may not be sufficient for all those players. Because if it seems like its always around 22-24 when it goes up, that's usually a sign that points to that.

Before this week we could play fine no lag spikes but now it is so i think it is a ddos attack, are there anyy addons or apps i could use to stop them?

My full 32slot TF2 servers only use 3% of a 100mbps connection...

Just start removing mods one by one until you notice a change.
