thats how you get your IP. now if you have dsl with a dynamic ip, then it will change and you will have to use that link to find what your ip is so that you can tell whoever when it changes. Next, you need to know how to log into your router, or whatever you have for a router. the 192.168.2.39 ip or whatever is your private ip, only people on your Local area network ( LAN ) can see/join the server. what you have to do is forward the ports in your router.

Ports being.....

TCP 27030-27039
UDP 1200,27000-27015

you need to look online how to login, and forward the ports.
I dont think you need to worry about your externel IP cuz if whoever plays your server, they should just save your server in favs to eliminate hassle of tellin everyone your new ip, if its not static. Big Grin

if your ip changes.. people will have to add the new ip to favorites... so if you have a dynamic ip.. try to get a static ip.. theres a couple other things you can do.. but yea. static is the best. but http://www.portforward.com should take you to some instructions on how to forward ports in the router. and you would need to give people the ip that http://www.whatsmyip.org says, and add the port to the end of that..

are you sure... cuz if the ports are forwarded, and you give out the ip that http://www.whatsmyip.org gives you.. it should work.. maybe post your ip here and ill test it?

if thats the ip that whatsmyip gives you.. then that is YOUR ip... not your rented game server ip.. unless its running off of your internet.. which it wouldn't really be rented then now would it..
on game monitor i got this. http://www.game-monitor.com/GameServer/24.166.103.171:27015/ and it gives me the name and everything you said up there.. so off hand.. i would say it should work.. it says its been down for awhilethough.. but if its read it, then it will probly work. and that LAN ip is what the server thinks it is.. it doesn't know its sitting behind a router, but that doesn't matter.. people have to connect to the external ip (24.xxxx) and that gets them to your modem, then to the router, and the forwarded ports on the router sends it to the right LAN ip. so does that make sense?

also a static ip means it won't change. (the 24.xxx one) cuz now i bet you have a dynamic.. which means if you lose power, or you disable the modem for any reason, causing it to lose connection.. you will more then likely get a new ip. so that means that 24.166.103.171 will no longer go to your server, and you will have to tell everyone a new ip.
