SRCDS w/ Ethernet Cable?
#16
Thanks, slapps, and loopyman, for your very helpful advice, but it STILL isn't working.
I logged into my router (192.168.1.1, thanks loopy for the password combinations) and portforwarded the things you said slapps, and added the ip (which just did the 'allocate udp ip' thing, so I took the +ip away).
I'll try to find out what the cable is plugged into, Dro.

I'm at my other house right now, it'll be a while before I can see where the white cable is plugged into, Dro.

Ok, I'm FINALLY back at my other house. The other end of my ethernet cable is plugged into my router, which is plugged into the cable box, and which I think is plugged into a cable that came with my house (those were basically the words of my dad). Hope this helps!!

You have the same configuration as pretty much any other broadband subscriber Toungue

All you need to do is set the server machine to have a reserved IP address on the router, and forward ports 27000-27040 UDP/TCP to that local IP. Once your done there, make sure your firewall will let SRCDS pass through, and you should be golden.

Didn't work. The server STILL isn't showing up on the Internet tab server list.
I did all of that except the first thing. What do you mean by "set the server machine to have a reserved IP address on the router"?
BTW I didn't do the last one because my firewall is OFF so there's no way that my firewall is gunna have an effect on any of this.
HELP!

You are still going to need to forward the ports through NAT.

Loopyman did Teamviewer w/ me but couldn't fix it, because he thought there was some security thing blocking SRCDS.
