source mod install issues

I am also trying to get sourcemod in and working for basic admin stuff. I have got meta mod working. but when I type meta list I am getting:

Listing 1 plugin:
[01] <ERROR>


I have tried everything on this page

I am trying to get this working on a L4D server and I am using the meta mod ver. which supports L4D2

Did you make your .vdf for MetaMod? If not, the please make one: http://sourcemm.net/vdf

I made the .vdf for metamod. I also have the vdf for sourcemod

Make sure you are using the correct versions of MetaMod or Sourcemod for your server. Remember to use the .tar.gz download for a Linux box, and the .zip for a Windows box. Downloading the zip to put on a Linux box will not work.
