Stupid router problem
#1
I have noticed a really stupid problem and was wondering if anyone else has been having it.

Before I got my netgear router I had a Belkin and a Linksys one and noticed that the 2 PC's on my network could play CS at the same time but but if one was browsing the internet the other would get a massive ping on CS.

I haven't noticed this yet on my netgear but then I haven't looked. Has anyone else had this problem and is there a way to possibly fix it if it happens with the netgear?

I have a netgear router and I play CS:S and have an SRCDS up all the time. The two other computers are just fine and my ping never goes up when the surf the internet.

yea.. i have 2 linksys routers, and a linksys switch, with like 8 computers on wired internet, and 2 on wireless, and always have srcds up and running on one computer, and then randomly be playing css on any of the other computers, while somone is surfing, and it never effects pings.. soo i don't know. but i just use my router for the dhcp server so i don't need an ip for each computer. and i have heard the routers can sometimes be crappy at disbursing bandwidth like that, thats why i use the switch.. it works way better i have noticed.

haha.. well i use one, my wife uses one. and my grandparents each have one, i have one in the bedroom to play music that i have stored on one, (i use that as a "server") that one also runs a webserver, and a mysql database for psychostats, and one for the gameserver, then just a couple extras that sit around and really do nothing. lol.i build all my own computers, so its pretty easy to get a lot of computers like that.

Oh well that explains it. You must have a huge house for all of that and having your grand parents living with you to.
