How many 500fps servers will this rig run?
#1
Intel Core2Quad 9300 2.53Ghz
4GB RAM 800mhz
500GB Hard Drive
4 Cores + 1333Mhz FSB
2000GB Transfer
5 IPS
100MB Port

Would this rig do like 4 20-slot-500-fps CSS servers? If not then who has the best price on dedicateds that you can break even on game server hosting? I mean it's $200 and 80 slots @ $3 would be like $240, but i'm almost sure that this rig wouldnt handle it. What provider should I look for, and how do you get workable deals out of them? Rent a whole bunch? Thanks in advance :-D

Thanks for the input, appreciate it. Hopefully it would handle more slots than 80 doing 100tic 500fps, not sure yet, ill probably give it a run and find out on my Xeon 3060 dual and check CPU usage and then compare benchmarks with the quad rig to get an idea. I had it for reselling, let it go, still have another 2 weeks, thats why I have no idea what will work, just decided to look into game servers tonight. Any companies with better CPU power/price ratios than that, off hand? I was never really in it for the power before, just started googling tonight. I was happy with my 100mbit 10TB from The Planet for trying to resell web, not sure if thats the best plan for games though. Not sure I will need that much bandwidth, but they are a good company in my experience. I was a gamer but I never really considered doing this before. Is it easy to get vent liscence btw?

You could host 4 32 slots if you wanted, with 500fps high population servers try to keep it to one server per core...

And I can do custom dedicated server plans if needed contact me at [SNIP] if interested.
