My freinds sometimes have issues connecting to my server, im behind a router. here is the command line to my server.

Quote:C:\SRCDS\srcds.exe -console -game cstrike -tickrate 100 -ip 192.168.0.199 -port 27015 -maxplayers 20 +map ba_jail_electric_razor_v6 +clientport 27015

they get server not responding when they try to join me thru steam.

can't show you the console becuse I'm at my grandma's house and following a neigbors router, server won't startup here cause i Can't forward ports.

Drocona, you are like god to me. you guide is simply amazing. But im having serious issues here...

When I use the external ip, it doesn't work when they try to connect, but if they use my internal ip it works.

my internal ip is 192.168.0.199

can't tell you correct external ip cause im thru a neigbors router.

but its somethig like 98.xx.xx.xx whatever

please help

When you're behind a router you have to forward these ports:

UDP: 1200 (used for friends service)
UDP: 27000 to 27015 inclusive
TCP: 27020 to 27050 inclusive
UDP: 27015 and 27020 (default HLDS, SRCDS and HLTV port)
TCP: 27015 (SRCDS Rcon port)

Start the server with +ip <internal IP> -port 27015

Im not a newbie to this, im just new to the forum. I know i have to forward portys and i have them all forwarded, i also have that in my command line but not with +ip but with -ip, is there a difference
also, when i forward my ports, I dont type them in. my router has predefined settings so i just selct counter-strike from the list and it forwards on its own. but it doesn't say if its for counter-strike 1.6 or Css. Do the games have different ports I need to forward?

also, if my ports weren't forwarded, i wouldn't get people at all, but i have had several clients on my server.
