Dedicated did work, now only shows up in lan?
#1
Alright, here's the problem, my css dedicated server that I run off of my home computer was working perfectly. No lag, no problems; only smooth game play right? After I restarted my desktop, my dedicated would show up only under LAN. I have no idea why, I've tried the SV_LAN 0 command... I've looked at my ports (they're the same), I've even hugged, kissed and sweet talked my desktop, nothing work. I would highly appreciate any help I can get.

"C:\Program Files (x86)\srcds\srcds.exe" -console -game cstrike +map speedrace_v4 -maxplayers 12 -autoupdate -tickratre 100 as start up

The server will always show up on your Lan. However, others should be see it on the internet. Can your friends connect via your external IP?

Please do not PM me for server related help

That's not true Arjen. I don't use the +ip and my rcon works fine Smile

hm, alright, more update, again I used to be able to host it on the master server and when it starts up, it even says connected to master server but only shows up on LAN. I used to have 5-10 people in there constantly before it decided to do this. My internal ip is the same. i tried doing the -ip as the start command, doesn't work. +ip* Could i have done something to the CFG file to make it screw up on me? but even then it wouldn't make sense because i messed with the cfg, restarted server and it worked fine. restarted computer and it only shows up as LAN. OH! also, it happened right after Steam started to screw up for myself and a few of my friends. wouldn't connect, show servers, or anything. that's when i restarted my computer. But i wasn't the only one who this did it to. and again, all of you have really helped me understand this stuff. Thanks to everyone again!

my start up line:

Code:
"C:\srcds \srcds.exe" -console -game cstrike +map hoejhus9 -maxplayers 64 -autoupdate -tickrate 100 -sv_lan 0

and that works fine so yes.. behind a router too Smile
