Grief from SRCDS (W2k3)
#1
Hello all.

I've been trying to get an Insurgency server running for a few days, and it's been absolutely driving me up a wall. The SRCDS starts just fine, but it doesn't connect to the master server, and cannot be connected to directly.

I've set up a lot of servers providing many different services, and haven't had one annoy me nearly as much as this thing.

System Specs
Windows Server 2003 SP2 32-bit
P4, 3.2GHz
1GB RAM -- awaiting upgrade shortly.
Onboard 100mbps LAN
Windows Firewall disabled.
netstat shows server listening on 27015.
27015 accessable from the internet (according to canyouseeme.org)
Direct connection to internet, including dedicated external IP.
----------
Server details
Source dedicated server running Insurgency
SourceMod
Startup command: -console -secure -game insurgency -port 27015 +fps_max 500 -tickrate 66 +exec server.cfg
----------
Server Output
63.1 fps 0/24 on map
Console initialized.
Game.dll loaded for "Insurgency"
maxplayers set to 2
maxplayers set to 24
Unknown command "snd_music_restart"
Network: IP xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx, mode MP, dedicated Yes, ports 27015 SV / 27005 CL
^IP removed, since it's an outward-facing IP. The actual output displays the correct IP.

Any ideas?

You need to set a map to startup on in your startup command using "+map mapname".

Nice find! I actually missed it this time >.<

I would also remove -secure and +exec server.cfg as they are both default.
But I would add -maxplayers 24

That fixed it ... thanks a lot!

And thank you for the suggestions, Mooga.
