I'm running a server in wine, and it boots up. Says connection to steam servers successful, but then it takes up to ten minutes to say VAC enabled.

What happens is, until it says VAC enabled all the steamid's in my server are pending, and once it says it then they show up correctly.

Any idea on how to resolve this?. I know because it is using WINE to run the server, its probably not helping but there must be some way to resolve this..

Are you running GarrysMod? Else skip the wine part and install the linux version?

Use hldsupdatetool and NOT steam.

Because my OS is linux and the server is windows.

Going to try out what Mooga said in a few hours.

Does it need to be a Windows server for any particular reason?? It would probably save some time and just be easier to run the Linux version of SRCDS.

There is no linux version of the server.
