Random crashes
#1
Hello,

I've got a litte problem with my srcds servers. They crashes at least once a day. Debug message is always like this:

First sever:
Quote:CRASH: wed aug 17 23:24:53 CEST 2005
Start Line: ./srcds_i686 -console -game cstrike +map de_dust2 +exec server.cfg +maxplayers 16 -port 27017 +ip 192.168.0.7 -tickrate 100 -debug
Using host libthread_db library "/lib/tls/libthread_db.so.1".
Core was generated by `./srcds_i686 -console -game cstrike +map de_dust2 +exec server.cfg +maxplayers'.
Program terminated with signal 11, Segmentation fault.

#0 0x400b5ece in ?? ()
End of Source crash report

Second server:
Quote:CRASH: śro sie 17 22:42:23 CEST 2005
Start Line: ./srcds_amd -console -game cstrike +map de_dust2 +exec server.cfg +maxplayers 16 -port 27020 +ip 10.10.11.10 -debug -tickrate 66
Using host libthread_db library "/lib/tls/libthread_db.so.1".
Core was generated by `./srcds_amd -console -game cstrike +map de_dust2 +exec server.cfg +maxplayers 1'.
Program terminated with signal 11, Segmentation fault.
#0 0x4b3b0dd0 in ?? ()
#0 0x4b3b0dd0 in ?? ()
End of Source crash report

Very similar messages on diffrent machines only the same operating system Linux Debian 3.1. First machine: AMD Sempron 2800+ with 512MB DDR and second machine: P4 3.0 HT with 512MB DDR.

Both SRCDS are configured with Mani Admin Plugin.

Any suggestions what can cause those crashes ?

are you adding the +exec server.cfg to your start line? It's not neccessary.

What's your glibc version?

2.3.0?
2.3.2?
2.3.3?
2.3.4?

I think you should be at at least 2.3.3. I know there were alot of 1.6 operators that were having issues and needed to upgrade their glibc to 2.3.5, but the updates that they got haven't been applied to source.

2.3.2 version

It's debian so there is no easy way to change glibc version without changing dependencies between packages. At the time, in stable release Sarge 3.1 glibc 2.3.2 is the best way to keep.
