Server not responding, but theres a twist
#1
So i made my server from this vid http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=FpsGeeks#play/uploads/98/agLVO6i5G5M

it went up i got admin on, i join and another guy finds it on the list and joins i guess. but when i look on list its not there, and my friend cant join the game when im in it either.

C:\srcds\srcds.exe -console -game cstrike -tickrate 100 +map de_dust -maxplayers 16 -autoupdate

thats what i used as target for run shortcut

also i cant chnge the server name, in the cfg u can see it says thanks reg but the name on the lan tab stays as counterstrike-source

forwarded every port possible tried sending him my ip with 27015 on end didnt work

people can obviouisly join since a guy was playing on it with me some how from buko, but why cant my friends, and why cant i see it on list when i look for it

router is mn-700 by microsoft

using this cfg
// server name
hostname "Thanks REG!"

// rcon passsword

I think you've portforwarded to your external IP. What's your lan IP?

If it does not show up after you've ran the server for 2days in a row, then forget everything about getting it in there. I've tried this.

If I understand you correctly, your server is not appearing on the master server list?
There are plenty people that have this problem. There are a list of different reasons why people think their servers don't show up on the steam master server list.

You can find a thread here: http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=479748

One good way to see if your server is able to be seen is by starting your server, waiting 5 to 10 minutes and then go to http://www.gametiger.com click on the "address" link, and then enter in your IP for the server (external IP, of course). If you hit search, and it comes up, your server is visible.

As far as your friends not being able to join, but other people can, it may be because your server isn't running on port 27015. If you can find your server on gametiger, it will list the port for you.

Are your friends trying to add the server through favorites with IP? You may be better off using the connect command in the developer console, try "connect your.ip.is.here:27015". If that doesn't work and you still don't know your port number, try and do port 27016 and/or 27017.

Good Luck!

My server didn't show up either after 5 weeks of numerous attempts.

I finally got that brilliant idea, why not try with my secondary internet connection, hmm ... it was in the masterlist in the second I started my server Big Grin

One more thing I think is worth a shot is adding this in the server.cfg

setmaster add 68.142.72.250
setmaster add 69.28.151.162
setmaster add 72.165.61.189
setmaster add 78.60.230.86

that post is from February, so I am not sure if those master servers are still current? But I think its worth a shot.

I think they still are the same, but should be worth a try.
