Server problems....x2
#1
Hey,
Im having some problems with a CS: Source server running on a dedicated box,
1) The pings on the server are somehow not displayed right, they are lower on the player list than rcon status states they are.
2) Map changes are slow

The server specs are: (ive tryed it on both...same problems)

Pentium 4 3.0ghz
1GB Ram (pc3200)
80GB Sata HD
100mbs connection
windows XP

Amd sempron 3000+
1GB Ram (pc3200)
80GB Sata hd
100mbs conn.
Windows xp

Please help as much as you can!, as im sure it will be a config error, as i have no idea what to change! the current config looks like this:

Quote:fps_max "200"
mp_friendlyfire 1
mp_footsteps 1
mp_autoteambalance 1
mp_autokick 0
mp_flashlight 1
mp_tkpunish 1
mp_forcecamera 1
sv_alltalk 0
sv_pausable 0
sv_cheats 0
sv_consistency 1

// round specific cvars
mp_freezetime 6
mp_roundtime 5
mp_startmoney 800
mp_c4timer 45
mp_fraglimit 0
mp_maxrounds 0
mp_winlimit 0
mp_playerid 0
mp_spawnprotectiontime 5

// server logging
log off
sv_logbans 0
sv_logecho 1
sv_logfile 1
sv_log_onefile 0

// operation
sv_lan 0

// execute ban files

Change you fps_max to 600 to start with...

More ram would be the only thing that would help boost map changes.

You dont need to worry about pings being different from the status command.

And try running Windows Media player with this command:

fps_max 600

without quotes. You can also run srcdsfps_boost.exe. Which can be found here:

Download the small app here:

I would use srcdsfps_boost.exe as that is smaller and works better.
