And can you recommend tickrate, etc.?

I played with a bunch of people today and I topped out at around 8 players.

My quad-core is overclocked to 2.5 GHz, my RAM is 6.00 GB, and I have a GTX 260. So my computer shouldn't be a problem.

Less than 7 100tick so go with 33 tick.

I forgot to mention I'm playing TF2.

Wait... three things.

1) How do I set the tick rate?
2) So if I drop the tick rate, I'll be able to handle slightly more people?
3) Will lowering the tickrate produce lag or higher ping?

1). It is standard 33tick.

2). Yes you will

3). It will increase the pings, if you lower it.

You wont be able run many slots (if any) with such limited bandwidth.

I managed 8 or 9 with a smooth connection, with pings ranging from 60-180. (Depending on loacation of course.)

Unfortunately my ISP sucks, because of where I live, my options for speeds and who my ISP actually is are very VERY limited, so I'll have to live with the speed for now, besides I got a good 7 man game going on TF2 yesterday.
