How Many Players?

DualCore Intel Pentium D 820, 2800 MHz (14 x 200)
1024 MB (DDR2-533 DDR2 SDRAM)
Intel® PRO/1000 PL Network Connection (192.168.0.3)

I will have mani admin mod on it.

Its a counter strike server. Can I host a 24slot 33tick?
Also will it lag when players try to join?

Also I know its unrecommended that you run a game server on the same PC you play on. But I couldnt find a solution to try and fix that since I dot have an extra PC lying around.
1st I tried to make my ps3 into it since I NEVER use it and it has a lot of cores. But I couldn't find a way to put an OS on it without using a CD. (I have a 4gb Flash Drive)
Than I tried to figure out how to assign everything on my computer to CPU0 and for everything not to use CPU1
So I could give it its own Core. But I could not find a way.

You should could handle a 24slots 33tick.

Your internet can handle it. But your hardware(CPU) is your limitation.

How many slots would I be able to run for gmod and at 66tick?

I doubt your CPU can handle much more than 5players, if there are not spawn restrictions on.

Is it going to be sandbox or DarkRP?

Sandbox most likely.

Darkrp I would want to have 12 slots and my cpu wouldnt be able to handle it.
Can you suggest a cheap dedi or comp I could buy (just for a server or two) and it would run them amazingly. budget $150 or less.

I saw somewhere that someone said just buy a cheap $100 comp to run it off of.

Be careful though. Comcast puts blocks on users if they see mega amounts of bandwidth being used which could happen when running a server. So if it works fine, then suddenly lags out, it might be your ISP throttling your connection.

You might be able to run it a 33tick. And some low rates. I'd try it out before actually renting or buying a server.
