Surf Settings
#1
Hi, I am just wondering about the surf settings. Most people say sv_airaccelerate 100, but when people surf on it, they say it just doesn't feel right. I found a IP that has really nice and easy surf conditions,
60.234.40.122:27015, i found it has sv_airaccelerate at 3000, but i still have troubles surfing when i put that on my surf server.
The admin is not on, and no one knows the settings.
I was wondering if there was a program, or some way to copy a server's config file, or if anyone knows surf config that is easy.
Cheers!

You can get the server.cfg from hlsw. Or you can see the settings.

The ip there has:

You need to add -ticrate 66 to your startup command. Also add these to your server.cfg
sv_airaccelerate 150
sv_maxcmdrate 66
sv_mincmdrate 33
sv_maxupdaterate 66
sv_minupdaterate 33

I did all that, and still nothing. I put it tickrate 66 too.

So how do i find the server config using HLSW?
Maybe using a dedicated server made it different?

Update:

My friend runs an 100tick server, with the same server config, and he has no problems surfing.
Maybe I need an 100 tick server?

You need a 66 TICK server to surf.

Yeah, 33 tick will screw you surfing, you need atleast 66 tick to surf, I've done tests on this before. >.>

I have found with surf it is better to have 100Tick otherwise you get really jumpy.

Your gravity is 750
It needs to be 800.

sv_gravity 800
sv_airaccelerate 150

Try also
sv_maxspeed 320

100 tick is better (if you don't have too many slots) but 66 tick is also good for surf.

To be honest... ZombieMod servers and surf servers doesn't really need 100tick. 66tick is best and if you can't afford or are having lag go for like 33tick.

But on surf maps there are sometimes parts where you need to do a little bhop.
And I thought you need 100 tick for good bhop

I usually have an 100 Tick server, but my brother is doing the HSC, and he needs the computer to study... (he...he...study....) So i just run a 66 tick server. All i plan to run on my surf server is surf_greatriver_fix, so i dont really need to bunnyhop, unless they wanna bunnyhop around in the water at bottom.

Not really. You need some server rates.(sv_airaccelerate 1000).
And bind jump to scroll on your mouse. Bunnyjump on any server at any tickrate, no matter. It's the rates. And if they have zBlock with bunnyjump fix.
